In-between

NOTE

In-between is a situation, a potential place, undetermined. This in-between is defined as a more or less stable space, a physical or mental gap, geographic or temporal. It is a free anchorage area, a tension theater, a possibility of relaxing.

The music appears with breathings. Sounds come out, hatch and disappear. Kind of a pendulum’s swing takes place, oscillating between two notes and between the instruments groups. Tight in the center of the stage, the string quartet trades sequences with the orchestra, producing magnifying glass effects, sound enlargement or narrowing. Inside of the accelerating breath, new materials appear, assembled and banging together, producing tumbles and stopping on resonances.

The audience is invited to inhabit this in-between, making it alive thanks to an inquiring mind. The ear, receiving sound images and while assembling silences with the note’s vibrations, is doing an unexpected musical trip.
